Theorem Painted Muslin Hoops
One of our favorite projects for HGTV's Carol Duvall Show, were these theorem painted muslin wall hangings. After applying theorem design to muslin with oil paint and allowed to dry, a light coating of craft glue was placed on the outer edge of the inside hoop. The painted fabric was carefully placed and centered on the inside ring and then the outer hoop was put in place and tightened. If you plan to stain or paint hoops to suit your decorting or gift needs, please be sure to do that first. ()

Theorem-Painted Memory & Keepsake Boxes
These beautiful keepsake/memory boxes started off as plain, inexpensive papier mache containers. A nice coat of acrylic paint was used as a background and then a theorem stencil was applied. After the stenciling, it is important to apply 2-3 coats of a spray sealer, I prefer matte finish. Some of the boxes were finished on the inside, see pictures far right, with batting and some fabric. These were all great one-day projects. ()

Framed Holiday Theorems
For these wonderful Chadds Ford Design Studio theorems, I decided to paint them on natural colored cotton muslin. Using some frames bought on sale, these made great gifts for family friends. Simple ripped strips of gingham fabric trimmed out the images and gave a great touch to frame embellishment...simple CAN BE beautfiul! ()

FOUR-SEASONS OF HEART WREATH
Here is a photo of the very first set of theorems I painted to give as a gift. I painted the four seasons of heart wreaths individually on natural-colored cotton muslin. As I recall, I paid about $14.99 at Target for each of the double-opening matted frames. This gift was completed in just one afternoon. ()

Four- Season Decorative Pillow Top
It doesn't get much easier than this! Here I painted CFDS 308, "Spring Wreath" on a 9" square of natural-colored cotton muslin. Trimmed-out with blue/ecru checker fabric and backed with a sweet calico print, this became a perfect decorative pillow. ()

Bronze Powder Stenciling
A plain papier mache container with handle was treated to false graining followed by bronze powder stenciling. The bronze powder stenciling application used one (1) leaf in a shadowing repeat pattern on the sides and handle. A single leaf was placed in each corner on top and then the entire project was sealed. These techniques are demonstrated on American Crafter's Bronze Powder Stenciling & False Graining, CCI 208. Theorem Painted Floor Cloth
This floor cloth is a great example of creativity! Shirley Day made use of more than one of her theorem stencils. For this project, NS VTS-90, "Ladyslippers & Berries" served as the center piece and the fern pieces were used again to frame the floral centerpiece and for corner embellishments. Butterfies from NS VTS-112 and the bird next from NS VTS-32, Ring of Birds completed this exceptional floor cloth. (Nutmeg Stencilers)

Theorem Painted Lampshade
Only the center portion of Ramblin' Rose Banch was used on this paper lampshade. It looks great with the light on or off! (ATC)

Theorem Stenciled Christmas Card
This was a Christmas card I received last year. Chadds Ford Design Studio's "Heart Warmer Tree" (CFDS 046) serves as this cards center-piece. (ATC)

Theorem Painted Clocks
For these clocks, we used a variety of theorem stencils and clock designs. The mantel and carriage clock bodies, along with clock mechanics, can be purchased at most large art & craft stores. For the round clock, I used a wood plate and drilled out a hole in the center for the clock works. (Various)
